Societies and Colleges

The American College of Veterinary Anesthesiologists site has information concerning the history, constitution and objectives of the organization, certification requirements for the speciality of veterinary anesthesiology and a list of officers and Diplomates. Images for discussions on ACVA-L, the veterinary anesthesia discussion list, are temporarily displayed here.

The Association of Veterinary Anaesthetists and European College of Veterinary Anaesthesia are complementary organizations. The AVA organizes scientific meetings, supports education and addresses political issues related to veterinary anesthesia. The ECVA is responsible for implementing standards for board certification in veterinary anesthesiology.

The site for the Veterinary Emergency Critical Care Society also hosts sites for the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care, the Academy of Veterinary Emergency & Critical Care Technicians, and the Student Chapter of VECCS.

The European Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society was founded in 2002. The purpose of the Society is to promote the advancement of knowledge and high standards of practice in veterinary emergency and critical care patient in Europe. The EVECCS pages can be displayed in Dutch, English, German, Italian, Portugese and Spanish, and the site has links to Web sites of European veterinary specialist colleges.

The Academy of Veterinary Technician Anesthetists provides certification of veterinary technicians as Veterinary Technician Specialist-Anesthesia.

Founded in 2003 , the International Veterinary Academy of Pain Management is a multi-disciplinary organization promoting humane investigation of animal pain, and advancement in clinical assessment and treatment of pain in animals through research, advocacy, training and education.
